You can book an appointment either at reception or over the phone on 01376 347100 (option 1) via telephone from 8am, however patients visiting the practice to book a same day appointment are unable to do this until 8.30am. This is to ensure that all patients have a fair and equitable access to our appointment booking system.
The Partners require the patient to provide as much detail as possible when booking an appointment. This is to ensure that all patients are signposted to the most appropriate service within the surgery. Please respect our staff when information is requested.
Our Appointment Booking System
The Emergency Line 01376 347100 Option 7 should only be used for urgent cases throughout the day. After 6.30pm you will need to telephone our Out-of-Hours Service on 111 from your landline or mobile and they will direct you to the most appropriate service to meet your requirements.
Please do not call the emergency line or Out of Hours for routine appointments.
Our Appointment Booking System
You can also cancel an appointment by leaving a message - please remember to leave your name, date of birth and the details of the appointment you wish to cancel and provided at least 2 hours notice of the cancellation. This will ensure the practice is able to provide your unwanted appointment to another patient. Routine/Follow Up Appointments
If you would like to see a Doctor in a non-urgent or follow-up capacity, we advise that you pre-book your appointment. Pre-bookable appointments are available subject to availability.
Appointments Released on the Day
Each of our Doctors have appointments that are released on the day. We will offer you your preferred choice of GP or if he/she is unavailable, our reception team will offer you an alternative.
Our Doctors are providing additional urgent consultations for conditions that are of a sudden onset or a severe deterioration of your current medical condition. Our Reception team will need to obtain some additional information to provide to the Doctor prior to these appointments. These appointments should not be used for routine access to Doctors.
Minor Ailment Appointments
Our Nursing team are highly trained to provide a service to our patients that covers the more common conditions such as ear infections, chesty coughs, sore throats and more. During these consultations the Nurse will examine the patient and provide a prescription for medication if appropriate. Appointments with a Specific GP
You are able to request an appointment with a particular GP of your choice. If this request is in a non-urgent capacity, we advise that you pre-book your appointment as detailed above. If the request is urgent you may ask for an appointment on the day but please be aware that if that particular GP is unavailable or fully booked, you will be offered an appointment with the next available Doctor or a minor ailment Nurse if appropriate.
We strongly advise that you book appointments with a Nurse as early as possible as they tend to get booked quite quickly, especially if your appointment needs to fit in with your current treatment. For more information on our Nurse appointments please click here.
Angela Chalmers is the practice Pharmacist. The Pharmacist will see all appropriate patients for medication reviews and support the management of Chronic Disease. Our Reception team will ensure you are booked appropriately.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the appointment to another patient.
