Everybody aged 65 and over should now be immunised to help protect them against pneumococcal infection which can cause diseases such as pneumonia, septicaemia (blood poisoning) and meningitis. Please phone the surgery during September to make an appointment if the above applies to you.

The RSV vaccine helps protect against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill. It's recommended during pregnancy and for adults aged 75 to 79.

The shingles vaccine helps protect against shingles. It's recommended for all adults turning 65, those aged 70 to 79 and those aged 50 and over with a severely weakened immune system.

It's important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection.

8 Weeks: 1st dose 6-in-1 vaccine, 1st dose Rotavirus, 1st dose MenB

12 weeks: 2nd dose 6-in-1 vaccine, 1st dose Pneumococcal, 2nd dose Rotavirus

16 weeks 3rd dose 6-in-1 vaccine, 2nd dose MenB

1 year 1st dose Hib/MenC, 1st dose MMR, 2nd dose Pneumococcal, 3rd dose MenB

2 to 15 years Flu every year

3 years and 4 months 2nd Dose MMR, 4-in-1 pre school booster
